A Trip to the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News, VA
Discover the wonder of the natural world at the Virginia Living Museum (VLM), located in Newport News, VA. VLM is home to more than 200 species of plants, animals, reptiles, and more––all housed in replicas of natural habitats. The living museum began in 1966 as a nature center in City Park and has since grown to encompass 79 acres inside Newport News Park. The Virginia Living Museum is divided into five distinct zones – Marine and Aquatic, Earth, Frontier, Conservation, and Live Animal presentations. Each zone includes numerous exhibitions and interactive displays, special exhibits, and gardens. This interactive theater features visitors the latest full-dome digital projection shows, as well as laser light shows.
